Submit your proposal here.

Proposals for events taking place between October 1, 2021 to January 1, 2022 and beyond are due August 15, 2021.

While the safety of in-person events remains uncertain, we can accept proposals for both virtual and in-person events in the upcoming cycle. Proposals for in-person events should describe safety measures in place for attendees. In addition to funding (e.g., honoraria to speakers), the Society can provide some administrative support and virtual webinar hosting via Zoom. Please contact Events Committee Chair Sonja Drimmer with any questions.

Helpful Hints

Applications for support usually vary between $250 to $1000 per event. Funds can be used for a variety of purposes, including, but not limited to, venue rental, honoraria, travel expenses for an invited speaker.

Virtual events can be hosted using the Society’s Zoom license, which accommodates up to 500 attendees. We recommend identifying an institutional co-sponsor that would be willing to host your virtual event if you want a larger audience.

The Society has a relationship with ACS Captions and can provide live captioning in English with highly accurate machine-generated captions into other languages for $160/hour. We strongly recommend including this amount in your budget if you are proposing a virtual event! ACS Captions can also provide ASL Interpretation, and if your event would benefit from that service we recommend contacting their helpful and responsive staff for an estimate to submit with your proposal.

The call for proposals is open to the public. Successful applicants are required to become members of the Society if they are not already.
