Visit to the Merriam Webster Headquarters

Join the BSA events planning sub-committee for a tour of Merriam-Webster’s headquarters in Springfield MA. Lexicographer Peter Sokolowski will provide an in-depth view of the physical plant, the lexicographic routines of the press, a look at the history of the Dictionary and the tools used in creating and maintaining it. He will be aided and abetted by Emily Brewster, one of the key people overseeing the Dictionary’s social media arm.

Jim Kelly of Amherst College has organized this excursion, and we will follow up with registrants to organize carpooling from the Amherst, MA area. Those outside of Amherst should organize their transportation to Merriam-Webster; free parking is available.
