“O virga ac diadema: Hildegard and the Living Light” performance by Schola Cantorum

In conjunction with the annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies, the ensemble Schola Cantorum will perform chants by Hildegard von Bingen. Dr. Honey Meconi will introduce the performance with a talk contextualizing the chants within their manuscripts and the long history of performance practice. The concert and lecture will demonstrate how material texts serve as historical evidence and inform both research and performance practice.
