Prose to the People: A Spring Sprint Book Launch Celebration
Spring into Support: Celebrate Black Stories, Fuel Our Mission
Join us for a special virtual fundraising event as part of our 2025 Spring Sprint! We’re celebrating the launch of Katie Mitchell’s Prose to the People: A Celebration of Black Bookstores and inspiring crucial donations for the BSA Annual Fund.
Katie Mitchell, the 2023 Dorothy Porter Wesley Fellow, will be interviewed by Alvin Patrick, executive producer of the Race and Culture Unit and Content Development & Integration for CBS News. In this intimate discussion held on Zoom webinar, Alvin and Katie will explore Katie’s research process and uncover the stories behind her book. BSA President Kinohi Nishikawa will open the event and moderate a Q&A session. Your participation directly supports our goal to raise $15,000 by July 1st.
This virtual event directly supports the BSA Annual Fund, a key part of our 2025 Spring Sprint” initiative. Funds raised will support fellowship awards, staff salaries and benefits, and small grants for bibliographical events.
